FRANCHISING - THE KEY TO BUSINESS SUCCESS - OWN YOUR FUTURE

Financing Available to Veterans

Veterans have two unique programs that have been set up specifically to help Veterans get started in their own business.

The VetFran Program

VetFran is a program developed by the International Franchise Association to help Veterans enter the franchise industry.  It is a voluntary program where franchise companies provide incentives to buy a franchise.  Each franchise company has their own incentive program, but typically the Veteran will receive a discount on the initial franchise fee.  The discount is usually in the form of a percentage or flat fee reduction in the franchise fee.

In most cases, the discounts provided by the franchise companies participating in the VetFran program lower the start up cost for the Veteran.

The Patriot Express Initiative

The new Patriot Express loan is offered by SBA’s network of participating lenders nationwide and features the fastest turnaround time for loan approvals.  Loans are available up to $500,000 and qualify for the SBA’s maximum guaranty of up to 85 percent for loans of $150,000 or less and up to 75 percent for loans over $150,000 up to $500,000.  For loans above $350,000, lenders are required to take all available collateral.

Both of these programs are in addition to other financing options you may qualify for such as using your 401-K funds or home equity loan.
